Pelican 7060 was designed to LAPD specifications. The LAPD wanted a
dual switch design with blinding brightness. The new Pelican 7060

Working together in a unique public/private endeavor, the Los
Angeles Police Department and Pelican Products, Inc. have redefined
the tactical application of the standard duty light. Using a
consensus approach, the LAPD solicited input from community groups,
the City of Los Angeles, and most importantly officers serving on
the streets. In the end, the specifications called for a new dual
switch LED design, and Pelican Products began the R&D to make
the light into reality. An officer on patrol needs the burn time and
convenience of a neck-switched duty light, but tactical situations
can demand a tail switch with momentary activation.
